The Cynosure Icon laser uses light to target and destroy hair cells without harming the surrounding skin. The treatment is fast, easy and practically pain free.
There is no down time and typically takes 4-6 treatments lasting 5-30 minutes each. You can expect to see a gradual decrease in hair thickness and the amount of overall hair in an area (individual results may vary).

Frequently Asked Questions
What body areas can be treated?
The Cynosure Icon Laser can safely remove hair from the face, underarms, legs, back, bikini area and chest.
What are the treatment sessions like?
Fast and easy. After the initial consultation, your treatment will begin. The handpiece applicator emits a light that disables the hair follicles, and most patients perceive the light as a gentle “snapping” sensation.
What should I expect following treatment?
Most people experience some mild redness and tenderness in the treated area shortly after treatment. This does not interfere with normal activities and usually subsides within a day. In some cases, the redness may last longer, but will still be mild and temporary. Your treatment provider will explain other, less likely side effects to you.
What are hair growth cycles?
Not all hairs are actively growing at the same time – they actually go through distinct phases: growth, regression, and resting. The duration of each phase is dependent on several factors, including the location of the hairs on the body. At any one time, 90% of the hairs on our heads are in the growth (anagen) phase, compared to only 70% of the hair on our arms. Pulsed light treatments are most effective during the anagen phase.
