Case #615 - Breast Reconstruction with Tissue Expanders and Implants

A 45 year old patient had a right lateral biopsy indicating breast cancer. She elected to have bilateral mastectomies. Because her surgeon was able to do skin- sparing mastectomies, she was immediately reconstructed with Alloderm and silicone implants, larger than her original breast tissue volume. Nipple reconstructions were accomplished 6 months later.

Case #617 - Breast Reconstruction with Tissue Expanders and Implants

A 50 year old patient had bilateral mastectomies that were not skin- sparing. Bilateral tissue expanders were inserted in an out-patient procedure, and eventually filled to 550cc. Eight weeks after the expander surgery, they were replaced with 600cc silicone implants. She can now wear a 40C bra comfortably.
