Lower Body Lift

Significant weight loss is a tremendous accomplishment. The weight you have lost shows that you are dedicated to your health and well being. But while you can lose weight, skin cannot be lost. Excess skin will hang over your frame, detracting from your achievement. The most common procedure to correct for sagging skin is lower body lift.

Lower body lift has helped many patients feel secure in their own bodies after significant weight loss. The procedure treats the entire lower body, combining a tummy tuck with a thigh and buttock lift, and targets the stomach, legs and behind.

Lower Body Lift Targeted Areas

  • Abdomen
  • Buttocks
  • Crotch Area
  • Flank
  • Legs
  • Lower Back
  • Knees

The Lower Body Lift Procedure

Also called the cellulite lift, lower body lift requires an incision around the entire circumference of the lower body. Excess skin is removed along this incision while the buttocks, thighs and stomach are lifted to form a more toned appearance.

Scarring

Please keep in mind that lower body lift leaves a noticeable, but well-positioned scar around your lower body. While the scar is placed in the best location possible, due to the nature of the procedure it will be visible. However, most bathing suits and underwear will mask scarring. Additionally, scarring will fade dramatically over the next six months to one year.

Initial Consultation

During your initial consultation with Dr. Cherup, she will discuss with you what you can expect from the procedure, as well as the risks involved.

Hospital Stay

A two to four day hospital stay is required for patients undergoing lower body lift. In four to six weeks, you will be able to resume natural activities.
